Week 7 down in the books friends! We are so excited to share what we have accomplished this week for the One Room Challenge and let's just say we are patting ourselves on the back.
The tiling FINALLY started and we can just see the vision coming to life right before our eyes. To give everyone a little refresher we decided on a beautiful white subway tile installed in a herringbone pattern for the shower walls. For the shower floors we are using a gray-blue marble installed in a brick staggered pattern. Lastly, for the main flooring we are going with a porcelain wood plank style flooring to bring in that farmhouse flair!
PRO TIP: Chances are if you are going with a more intricate pattern like a herringbone your labor costs will most likely be a bit higher. Reason being it takes more time and detail to install. Our recommendation is to check with your installer prior to making the decision on tile pattern.
How gorgeous is the shower looking!?
We are so happy we chose to do a herringbone pattern instead of a traditional brick staggered style. It adds so much dimension to the space, and we are a tiny bit obsessed!
BEHOLD WE HAVE A CLOSET!
The closet has taken shape and we are so happy with how much more space our clients are getting. Who knew we could create so much extra space in such a tiny space!? I know a bit of an oxymoron, but hey it works! The new high hat LED's have also been installed in the closet. This space is about 65% of the way there. Next week we will be smoothing out, patching the walls and ceilings, painting, and then installing the new closet system.
One request our client was adamant about for the closet was plenty of storage for her purse collection. In order to accommodate her hand bags we are adding 6 cubbies into the closet system.
Our clients husband has also requested additional shelving above the barn door for his ties and hats. We have added this to the scope, and let the installer know to add the material to his order.
We are seriously down to the wire and we are working overtime to meet the deadline. Over the next week and half we will putting in the finishing touches as well as installing our bad ass custom vanity! We will also be installing the baseboards and plumbing fixtures.
Our contractor is confident that he should be wrapping up everything in the next 7-10 days which is just in time to meet the #ORC challenge!
