Homestead Is Where The Heart Is Home Tour

Updated: Jun 21, 2020

Nestled amongst the plant nurseries, and farms of southern Miami lies our clients modern oasis. Driving to Homestead you're almost transported to a countryside in the South that is very far from the typical Miami you see. Off the beaten path (literally), our clients built from the ground up home comes to life. Their modern home juxtaposed against the rural landscape is definitely a beauty to be seen.

Our clients wanted to transform their open concept living space into a elevated luxe casual space where they can entertain. They wanted a space that felt inviting yet upscale while still being kid friendly.

In order to achieve an inviting feeling we designed around a neutral palette with soft ivories, whites, blues and browns. We wanted the space to feel relaxed, and lived in. With our clients busy and chaotic lives revolving around three adorable boys we wanted to bring a sense of calm to the open living space.

We added tons of texture and subtle patterns to bring in that lived in feeling while still keeping true to understated elegance. When it came to furnishings, durability was key, so we sourced heavy duty upholstery sofas from #joybird in the living room. We chose stain resistant fabrics that could withstand a lot of daily use. Our favorite of course is the gorgeous blue sofa! We think it's definitely the stand out piece in the space.

One of our budget friendly pieces that we can't get enough of are the two accent chairs from #target . These chairs look incredible with the other pieces, and just goes to show you can find high end quality style on a budget. We highly recommend these for anyone looking for some beautiful chairs. Link them here.

Next up is the AMAZING dining space we created. No, seriously this space is one of our absolute favorites! I mean can we talk about this gallery wall of our dreams? The cutest photos surround the dining table making for the perfect backdrop. Pro tip: to get a similar look you want to 1. Purchase the same size frames. We like 11x17 or larger. 2. Space frames no more than 2" apart. 3. Keep the photos consistent.

The #liveedge dining table was the best find for this space as it incorporated, and brought in that natural element that was missing. To tie in the new dining table we decided to change out the door fronts of the existing buffet to give it lighter feel and bring in some of the natural tones from the dining table.

We hope you enjoyed our reveal of Project Homestead is where the Heart is! Stay tuned for the home office reveal from this project soon.
